What to expect at The Mob Museum
The Mob Museum presents the history and impact of organized crime alongside the law-enforcement efforts to address it. It occupies the former U.S. Courthouse and Post Office, which opened in 1933; a Senate committee hearing on organized crime’s involvement in the Las Vegas casino industry took place in its second-floor courtroom on November 15, 1950.
Exhibits span four floors and combine artifacts, videos, interactive elements and multimedia displays. They are arranged chronologically, and the museum recommends beginning on the third floor before exploring at your own pace.
Among the featured displays are the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre wall and ballistics evidence, the historic courtroom, the Crime Lab and the Firearm Training Simulator. The basement’s The Underground combines a speakeasy and distillery with exhibits about Prohibition and the wreckage of the Lizzie D.
